Asteroid Mining: Special Delivery by garryts Asteroid Mining: Special Delivery by garryts
Modelled in Cinema 4D, post-production in Photoshop.

The cargo shuttle/freighter design is influenced (of course) by Gerry Anderson designs and the Sikorsky Sky Crane. The blue-and-white striped colour scheme is a direct steal from the Chris Foss cover for "The Early Assimov, Vol 1"

Most of the textures throughout the image are mine - the chevrons, ship number and crate textures are Total Textures (but dirtied a little more!).

---
Two astronaut-miners (I can't write that without thinking of the Galaxy Quest joke!) receive a supply drop from a cargo shuttle.
------

Bit of a cheat this one: I've had the cargo shuttle/freighter semi-finished for over a year, looking for an image. The astronauts are from my 'Artifact' illustration and the rocks I purchased from Renderosity store over a decade ago...

Reading an article about asteroid mining suggested this image, and it was largely a case of assembly, a little bit of texturing.

Hope you like it!

That is a terrible landing pad. Pretty cool scene, though.

Glad you like the scene - not sure what you're referring to when you say 'landing pad' though... There isn't a landing pad in the image - just the rock of the asteroid.
